IN-USE PERFORMANCE EVALUATION OF ENVIROMAGNETICS™ DIESEL FUEL SAVER

IN-USE PERFORMANCE EVALUATION OF ENVIROMAGNETICS™ DIESEL FUEL SAVER

Executive Summary:
This project involved in-use performance evaluation of EnviroMagnetics™ Diesel Fuel Saver (DFS) on Class 8 diesel trucks using portable emissions measurement systems and following modified SAE J1321 fuel economy test procedure. Footnote 1 The DFS technology was tested according to the established SAE J1321 “Type II” fuel consumption test protocol recognized and endorsed by SAE and the USEPA. Summary mass emission results for before and after the DFS installation are presented in this report. The DFS technology exhibited 7.9% fuel economy improvement.
Objective:  EnviroMagnetics Corporation (hereinafter “EnviroMagnetics”) of Doylestown, Pennsylvania, manufactures an eco-friendly, nanotechnology–based, ortho-hydrogen treatment system for use in diesel engines.
This project involved the deployment and emissions and fuel consumption characterization of the EnviroMagnetics Diesel Fuel Saver (“DFS”) to document the technology’s effectiveness for the U.S. Class 8 Heavy Duty Diesel Vehicle market.
According to EnviroMagnetics, the DFS de-clusters fuel molecules via charge activation before combustion in concert with charged oxygen and uses a coolant energizer for greater heat transfer efficiency. In previous field trials conducted by EnviroMagnetics between 10 and 20% fuel economy improvement was observed.
EnviroMagnetics contracted Emisstar, as a qualified and capable testing entity, to carry out an independent third-party performance evaluation of the product under real-world test conditions following SAE and EPA testing procedures. In contracting with a well-credentialed independent third party for this evaluation, EnviroMagnetics intends to make a definitive case for the DFS technology to enter the market for immediate use in Diesel Trucking Operations.

Portable Emissions Measurement Systems (PEMS) testing was employed to quantify the in-use emissions reductions for EPA criteria pollutants2, as well as carbon dioxide (CO2), before and after installation of the DFS. This report encapsulates the dataset resulting from this testing project.
